Beach Baby!

As you read in my previous post, we camped in Port Townsend last weekend and Isabelle had her first taste of salt water and sand. She is quite the little water bug -- loves her baths and we can't get her out of the pool. So she was in heaven when she saw the biggest "pool" she's ever seen!It was nice and warm on Saturday, but I didn't think Isabelle would be up for swimming in the freezing ocean. There were tons of kids swimming up to their necks in this cold stuff, but I still thought it might be too cold. So I didn't put Isabelle's swim suite on when we headed down to the beach for the family reunion. Boy was I wrong! She went right in (clothes and all) and was loving it. So we put the suite on and let her have at it!

She was quite brave and headed right in... But had a bit of a rude awakening when she realized how cold it really was.

She dug around in the sand, but wasn't too sure how much she liked it sticking to her hands.

Simply loving it!

She did NOT want to stop for a few pictures with mommy and daddy.

So back in she went.

Our Trip Over the Mountains

Isabelle's first look at the ocean. Does it get any cuter than this? :)

Last Thursday we headed over the mountains to visit Paul's family for a few days. Early Friday afternoon we drove up to Port Townsend to camp for two nights and to meet up with Paul's mom's family for a family reunion. We stayed at this gorgeous State Park called Fort Worden. The park rests on a high bluff overlooking Puget Sound. Many historic buildings remain at the 19th century military fort.

Friday evening after we got camp all setup we took a walk down to the beach.

Ryan loved playing in the sand and was very anxious to swim.

We took in the sites, checking out all the neat historical remains.

Cougs on the coast. :)

Paul snapped some gorgeous pictures.

And I snapped a few of him and his mom, Cindy, with Isabelle.

The weather was perfect on Saturday. We all gathered at the beach where we had a full kitchen covered area reserved for the day for the family reunion. We had some hot dogs and hamburgers along with some delicious salads. The snickers salad was the kiddos favorite!

The kids, big and small, played some "dingle balls" (I'm not quite sure what the real name of the game is, but it's a fun backyard type of game).

Isabelle loved her Great Aunt Carol.

Ryan (the tiger) giving some love to Izzy after a full day of swimming in the Sound.

Paul's cousin's little boy, Lincoln, playing in the sand. They were such sweet boys. :)

We had a great time and Isabelle did fairly well sleeping in the tent. She ended up with a bad cold/allergies -- her eyes were watering, she sneezed and her nose ran all weekend, but she was a little trooper! I have MANY more pictures from our trip as our excursion continues onto Bellingham and Leavenworth. Plus some of Isabelle's first time playing in the sand and ocean. I'll have to split these posts up though so stay tuned!

Two years ago...

Two years ago...

I married the man of my dreams and my best friend for life.

It was one of the happiest days of my life.

The evening was perfect in all sense of the word.

I promised to honor and love him till death do us part.

Prayed that our love would be boundless.

Two years ago...

It's amazing that we are already celebrating our two year anniversary! What a wonderful past two years it has been! As I looked through all our wedding pictures it brought back all the emotions from that perfect day (I hope that never goes away). I can see our excitement, anticipation, nerves, happiness, and love.
Paul, thank you for the best two years of my life! You are the most amazing husband, friend, and father. I love you with all my heart and am so blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for your patience, hard work, compassion, and love. Here’s to many, many great years ahead!

I love you!

Wordless Wednesday!

Why is it that we can't wait to turn our little ones around in a forward-facing car seat?

This is why!!!

Last night Isabelle's new car seat was on the front porch when we got home. She's always been a good little traveler, but the older she gets the fussier she has gotten. I can't imagine having to ride around in a moving vehicle facing backwards (but I get car sick as it is) so I can't blame her. We're heading over to the west side tomorrow after work and we'll be doing a lot of driving so we figured now was the perfect time to switch her into her new seat. She's exactly 20 lbs. and plenty tall enough (yeah, she's a few weeks short of being one, but who's counting?).
We had her try it out this morning on the way to school and she was thrilled! She was looking around giggling and dancing to the music. She felt like such a big girl!
Ahhh, let's hope she is this peaceful during our trip over the mountains! :)

Dillon turns TWO!

The cute birthday boy!
Waiting patiently to blow out his candle on his yummy jell-o cake.
Got it!

Silly boy!
And a silly girl!

Happy Birthday Dillon!!! It's hard to believe you are already 2!
Erin made delicious enchiladas, rice, beans, and JELL-O cake all on top of watching Isabelle all day. I'm sure it made for a busy Tuesday, but we sure did have fun! Thank you!!!
