Sprinkler Fun!

The weather has finally warmed up to normal Palouse summer temperatures! Which means spending lots of time at the lake, but for those weekday evening cool downs... Isabelle is thrilled to run through the sprinkler (Mommy and Daddy may enjoy it a little as well). =)

"See Mommy, the SPRINKLAAA!!!"

Too much fun!

Which calls for lots of screeming and giggling!

"Okay Mommy, I'm cooled off and ready to go inside now."

2nd Birthday Party Plans

Birthday party plans are in the works! Can you believe it? I sure can't! It absolutely blows my mind that Isabelle will be two in less than three weeks. I must admit, this year I've been a little more laid back and quite honestly slacking on the birthday party planning. It might have something to do with the fact that I'm 9 months pregnant, but who knows! ;) But I still want to make this a special day because as you all know from last year, I believe birthdays should be extra special. This year the party won't be anything too extravagant, but we'll still make it a day to celebrate Isabelle!

We've decided to make things simple and fun that we'll have the party up at my parents' place since they live on the lake. For one thing it is going to be HOT and what's more fun in the summer than spending the day at the lake? We're keeping the guest list small (mainly just family with a few close friends) and will most likely just lounge by the lake all day, BBQ, open presents and eat cake. To spice things up a bit we'll have some balloons and streamers, a pinata, and lots of yummy food and treats. Oh yes, and the birthday girl will be looking extra festive herself! The "theme" is purple and pink... yes, very girly! I snapped some pictures of Izzy in her birthday tutu for her invitations. Take a look at these... can you say Ahh-dorable?! =)

I love looking back on previous blog posts; especially those from the very beginning. Yesterday I was looking back with Isabelle as she has really enjoyed seeing herself on the blog lately. If I'm on the laptop she'll ask, "See pictures?" and as we go through post after post she'll tell me who she sees and I'll read the stories to her as she sits on my quickly shrinking lap.

I know she would just love reading her baby book and I want to have that special memento to pass onto her. BUT, I have a confession. I have not even started her baby scrapbook! I had such high hopes and thought I would have had it done by her first birthday. Well, here we are just a little over three weeks before her second birthday and still not a single page completed. So here's my goal, (I'm posting it on here in hopes of keeping myself on track) I want to have her book completed in the next month or so... maybe by her 2nd birthday. I'll post some updates (maybe with some pictures to share) and will hopefully be done with her book just in time to start Coopers! Any tips would be greatly appreciated! :)

And since we're reminiscing... how precious is this sweet little three day old face?

First Fish!

Setting up her pole.

Waiting for a bite.

Fish on! Reeling it in.

Taking in the sites.

Daddy's turn with the Barbie pole. :)

After all the excitement of catching her first fish, Izzy found a comfy spot and was out for the ride back.

Our Fourth!

This weekend was full of an excess of relaxation, great company, comforting memories and savory food… a little too much food, but hey, what are the holidays for, right? I love the Fourth of July! It always brings back such fond memories from my childhood. I don’t know what it is about watching the fireworks sparkle in the sky, but it gets to me every time. Yes, I get a little teary-eyed during the grand finale every year and this year was no exception. As I sat with Isabelle curled up fast asleep on my shrinking lap, with Paul to my right, Papa and Grandma to my left, and the rest of my family strung about the lake front I couldn’t help but feel so overly blessed and happy. Hope you all had a great 4th of July as well!

Waiting for the firework show to start with Daddy.

Izzy was very tired and passed out on my lap right after this.

Watching all the fireworks going off around the lake.

Gigi, Papa, Erin and Dane hidden under the blankets.

First sparkler!

And what's summer without watermelon?

Izzy had her first freezer pop!

If you can't tell...

She loved it!
