5 Months Old

Cooper is now five months old. Each month just seems to be going by faster and faster. We (and by we I also mean a very eager big sis) gave him his first taste of rice cereal on Saturday morning. He seemed to enjoy it and now the fun will begin as we are able to introduce new foods.

The first bite.

Mmmmm!

Leaning in for more.

A few more tid bits about Cooper this month:

  • He started rolling over and has really perfected this newly found skill.
  • Is a great sleeper -- goes down for the night at 6:30, wakes up to eat around 5:00, and then sleeps a bit longer before it's time to get ready for school.
  • Is not much of a napper these days. He likes short little cat naps which makes it hard for momma to get much done!
  • He's still a drooling machine and loves to do raspberries creating bubbles all over his chin, but still no teeth.
  • Was able to get over his ear infection just in time to get another bad cough. :(
  • Is still a spitting image of his daddy.
  • He recognizes his name.
  • Loves to play with his toes.
  • Is falling more and more in love with his big sis every day. Whenever he hears her voice he looks all around trying to find her and gets the biggest grin on his face when he does.
  • He is still his mama's cuddle bug and I'm just hoping that never changes!

Rockin' and a Rollin'

Cooper rolled over a couple time while on our bed right before he turned four months old, but I didn't think much of it. Two weekends ago I put him on the floor to sprawl out a bit and instantly he flipped over onto his stomach. Then he rolled right back over onto his back. He did it over and over and ever since has been a rolling machine! I forget how fast these little guys can accomplish major milestones. Before we know it he'll be walking. By the way, how cute is that gummy smile?! :)

The view from here...

This is one of my most favorite little faces to look at ever! As each day goes on I think he just gets sweeter and sweeter. Last night I couldn’t help snapping a picture on my phone of my little back-bending cutie pie peeking up at me while lounging on my lap. Seriously?! Could he get any cuter?
And then here he is just less than four months ago. It's amazing the difference just four short months will make. I cannot believe how much he’s changing right before our eyes. Look at that little peanut all snug as a bug in a rug sling. I was so happy when I stumbled across this picture in my phone; it really captures his tininess and really makes my heart melt.
Love. Pure, love.

Christmas 2010

Yes, I'm a bit behind on posting this. I know... *Big sigh*

I feel like I'm a bit behind on everything these days, quite honestly. The house is slowly coming back together though, but still has all Christmas decorations up, unwrapped gifts scattered about, a half full suit case sitting in Cooper's room (which was just recently moved from the hallway), and at least three loads of clean laundry that needs folding. My desk at work adds a whole other aspect, but I won't even go there. I'm sure you get the picture. Why is it that traveling with two little ones takes so much out of you?! I promise I'm not complaining because, let me tell you, we had an amazing Christmas and enjoyed every minute of our time spent away! I wish it could have lasted longer, but here we are, back to reality.

BUT... it's a new year! We plan to stay home for a while and I have high hopes of getting our lives back on track, the house in order, reintroduce home cooked meals, and caught up at work too (one can dream, right?). :)

Okay, on with the good stuff!

Our little Christmas love bugs!

Izzy performing all her Christmas songs. That face just makes my heart smile!

Christmas cookie decorating is serious business, you know.
Eating the final product is so much more fun though!
Fun in the snow!

Matching pj's on Christmas Eve! So fun to wake up on Christmas morning together.

*This year I was horrible about taking pictures during all our Christmas festivities. I forgot my camera when we went over to Paul's parents' and then at my parents' didn't take it out once. Luckily, my mom had her new camera and did snap all of these pictures for me. Thanks, Momma!
