Ears and ice cream.

Coop had surgery on Tuesday. The anticipation was the worst part. No momma likes to hand their baby off to a nurse and the anesthesiologist, but everything went just fine and honestly, I'm counting my blessings that this is the worst we've had to deal with thus far.

Poor little man and his ears -- he's had non-stop issues with them since he was four months old. Over the past six months he's had this stubborn fluid that would not drain. After a hearing test revealed his hearing was being effected the pediatrician finally recommended we see a EN&T in Spokane. Three days later and we were heading back up to Spokane for a 7:30 a.m. surgery.

Here's our little cutie waiting to go back for the procedure.

Waking up from the anesthesia was the worst part. He was one angry boy... red face screaming, biting his fingers, kicking his feet, pushing me away, all while crying and saying, "Momma" over and over. Poor little guy! That lasted what felt like an hour, but was only about 20 minutes. Once we walked out the door and got him in his car seat he did not make a single peep the rest of the day. Slept fine that night and has been just perfect since. Well, minus the ear drops, but what 18 month old likes to be pinned down for more than a few seconds, right?
Someone was happy to be home and to have the rest of the afternoon alone with his momma.

Monday night Isabelle said we should have ice cream with sprinkles on top after Coop's surgery. What a great idea, Sis!

 Nom, nom!

Someone was excited! She was so worried about her bubby and was so happy to see him when she got home from school. The ice cream was just icing on the cake!

Hi I just found your blog because of the Kevin and Amanda Mixer Giveaway! (Congrats!!) - But first off - sorry to hear your little dude was so hurty! No mama likes that one bit! But I'm sure they're loving the ice cream!
And then I also had to pass on a GO COUGS! My fiance and I are both Cougs, too! He was a Crop and Soil Science kid when he was going to school (I was PoliSci) He's living back there working in Colfax now, so I'm unbelievably excited to be spending my weekends back on the Palouse!
Anywho - this is a much longer comment than I intended haha. All the best for your little dude's speedy recovery!!
