Santa and Santa Butch

We took our annual trip to see Santa and Santa Butch {WSU's mascot} a few weeks back. I'm happy to report not a single tear was shed this year! That's a first, folks!

Posing for a couple pics while we were in line.

Sweetest Santa, but he never looks at the camera. Ah well...
 "I'd like..."
 Yay! No tears with Butch!

 And that's a wrap!

Cookies, milk, and reindeer food.

I have been wanting to host a kid's Christmas party for a couple years now and after seeing Kelle Hampton's Reindeer Food Bar idea on her blog Enjoying the Small Things {one of my most favorite blogs I must add} I knew we had to have one this year. As always, December was very busy and just flew by so before I knew it we were only a few short weeks away from Christmas and I decided to have an impromptu milk and cookies party.

An evite was sent and mama's and their kiddos were asked to join us for some holiday cheer in their jammies at 6:00 on a Sunday evening. I'm blessed to have an amazing group of mama friends with lots of little ones. I invited them all assuming many would not be able to make it, but out of the 18 kids only two were unable to come. So we had a packed house of 16 little ones under the age of 5 and a half and I loved every minute of it.

I decided to have an evening get together right before bedtime. Kids would be fed and could just stop by for an hour of so for a couple crafts and a cookie or two. The timing was perfect! Not a single breakdown until right as everyone was heading out the door and the best part was the littles were already in jams so all we had to do was put them to bed.

This is definitely a tradition I want to keep going. Next year I'll start planning much more in advance. I pulled it off in a week, but there are so many more fun details to add next go around.

Well, hello there! It's been far too long and the thought of updating you on the past how ever many months it's been is quite overwhelming so I'll just start at Christmas.

Christmas was pure magic this year and we soaked every minute up. The kids are at an age where they make it just too easy not to. We started December out with our first visit from one of Santa's elves. {A separate post will follow regarding some of our Elf on the Shelf mishaps, but overall it was a success.}; we had an impromptu milk and cookies party for all our little friends at our house one Sunday afternoon {another separate post to follow}; we hosted Christmas down in Pullman for the first time and it was so great to wake up at our house on Christmas morning; and finally, we are heading to a cabin in the mountains near Cle Elum tomorrow afternoon for four days to celebrate with Paul's family. I love when we can stretch the holiday out as much as possible because I'm always so sad to see it all come to an end.

For now, here are some pictures from our Christmas festivities:
Sprinkling reindeer food and searching for Santa and his sleigh before bed on Christmas Eve.

Santa came!

Good morning.

Singing Happy Birthday to Jesus before opening gifts.
Santa knows this boy too well. The granola bars were his favorite stocking stuffer. He saw them and said, "I love granola bars!" Every morning Cooper wakes up asking for a granola bar because he has to have a snack to hold him out until breakfast can be made. He's a true boy!

Ready for Christmas dinner.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
